Abstract

WS2 nanotubes were synthesized in large amounts by reaction of H2S with WO3 nanopowder using a fluidized-bed reactor. The nanotubes come often in a few centimeter long bundles or alternatively as a few centimeters large foil deposited on the quartz wall of the reactor. Transmission electron microscopy revealed that the open-ended nanotubes are quite uniform in shape: up to 0.5-mm long and 15−20 nm in diameter, and they are chiral.
