Abstract

In vitro fertilization (IVF) has made it possible for many cystic fibrosis (CF) patients to become parents. It is a routine practice worldwide to test the partner, whether he/she is a genetic carrier, and if proven positive preimplantation diagnosis (PGD) is offered. However, PGD due to its high cost is not often performed when donor gametes are used, presuming the donors are healthy.
