Abstract
Rost et al. have examined some of the implications of dimensional scaling for the molecular orbital (MO) description of the «right parity» (π=(-1) L ) doubly-excited states of two-electron atoms. They propose a new and simple classification scheme utilizing interdimensional degeneracies, saddle degeneracies, and Λ-doubling. The present paper extends this description, in D dimensions, to the «wrong parity» (π=(-1) L+1 ) states and provides a justification for the extension of the new classification scheme to include the π=(-1) L+1 states
