Abstract

The turbulent history of Wrocław is reflected in its urban structure. It represents the difficult history of Central Europe, torn between periods of unbelievable progress and unprecedented disaster, between East and West. Today Wrocław is trying to get back onto the European stage by positioning itself as a progressive and multicultural Central European metropolis. The question is whether the local authorities and the residents understand this task in the same way.
