Abstract

For a range of Reynolds numbers from 2000 to 15000 heat-transfer and flow-friction characteristics were investigated at normal flow tube banks, consisting of ten tube rows. The parallel tubes of each row were crossed by the tubes of the preceding and the following row at 90°. The transverse spacing of the tubes and the longitudinal spacing of the tube rows were varied and with that the ratio of the heated tube surface to the whole volume of the bank. The variation of individualrow heat-transfer coefficient and the influence of a higher turbulence level of the air-current were also investigated.
