Abstract

During our medical writing workshops, participants often seek advice about reference books. What books are available? Which are most useful? There are many excellent books, and the choice ultimately depends on personal preference. In this essay I wish to mention several works now in print that may be useful to a physician seriously interested in medical writing. I emphasize that the selection is limited to books currently available, and is not intended to be complete. <h3>Usage</h3> Questions of usage help define good taste in writing, and many books seek to answer these questions.
