Abstract

It's this realness that makes my newspaper class a meaningful learning experience for my students and a satisfying teaching experience for me. With the authentic task of a publication, the students see themselves as writers with an important job to do. Thus, the steps of the writing process become real and opportunities for authentic assessment necessary.
