Abstract

This article picks up on concerns recently expressed in this journal about Rahner's axiom relating the immanent and economic Trinity. While this axiom has become a theological commonplace, the present article raises concerns in relation to two areas: the blurring of the distinction between person and nature, and the place of the filioque in understanding the Trinity. UnderLying both these areas is a question of theological method, in particular the relationship between dogmatic and systematic questions.
