Abstract
The article examines economic crime in Poland from 2019 to 2022, focusing on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. It considers whether the pandemic influenced the rise in fraud, counterfeiting, and cybercrime during this period. The analysis of statistics shows a notable increase in such crimes, attributed to several factors. The pandemic destabilized the labour market, led to business closures, and intensified economic pressures, prompting companies to seek alternative means of staying competitive, which facilitated criminal activity. The study highlights the urgent need for effective preventive measures and enhanced cooperation between public and private sectors to protect businesses from cybercrime. It concludes with a call for strategies to secure the economy and ensure business stability in future crises.
