Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of laser stimulation of seeds on emergence and yielding of scaly peas. The experimental material was six seed lots of peas of different quality expressed by germination capacity. The seeds were irradiated with three doses of laser beams He-Ne (0, 6 and 8 mW · cm–2). In the field experiment, seedling emergence, the number of pods per plant, the number of seeds in the pod, the weight of 1000 seeds, the seed yield per plant and the unit area were evaluated. The significant improvement of emergence of lower quality seed lots was obtained by the laser treatment. Laser irradiation did not influence emergence of high quality seed lots. There was no significant effect of laser light stimulation in the applied doses on the yielding of pea seeds.
