Abstract

With the rapid development of wireless power transfer (WPT) technology, lots of research work has been carried out. However, most of the research work mainly focuses on system topology, reactive power compensation, design of electromagnetic coupling coils and methods of system efficiency improvement. Research on the charging efficiency of WPT system with battery as load is rare. In this paper, WPT charging system with low frequency excitation sources is proposed. The excitation sources are 100Hz sine wave, triangle wave and square wave pulse power supply respectively. Using Simplorer and Maxwell co-simulation, Electromagnetic field analysis of the different placement modes (coaxial, horizontal misalignment, non-parallel) of the electromagnetic coupling coils are carried out. The relationship between system efficiency and the distance between electromagnetic coupling coils is analyzed. Finally, the lithium battery PNGV model is adopted as the system load, which makes the system charging process closer to the actual charging situation.
