Abstract

In 2005 I worked with De Quincey Co as photographer for their site-specific dance performance Dictionary of Atmospheres in Alice Springs in Australia's Northern Territory. After negotiations and with permission from the town council, the Alice Springs Festival, and the local Indigenous Arrente elders, the dancers rehearsed over a one-kilometer stretch along the dry Todd River alongside groups of Aboriginal people who sat under trees on the riverbed.
