Naval Engineers JournalVolume 82, Issue 5 p. 17-24 WORLD WIDE STATUS OF THE MARINE GAS TURBESE-1970 VICTOR De BIASI, VICTOR De BIASI De Biasi received his B. A. in Aeronautical Engineering from the Polytechnic a Institute, Brooklyn, N. Y. in 1946. His experience involved research and development in aeronautics as well as the technical publishing field. Industrial experience includes: Chance Vought Aircraft in materials research and Sperry Gyroscope in Navigation and fire control. He is a active in the Gas Turbine Division of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. In the publishing area his positions were: Associate Editor, Aviation Age; Chief Editor, Space Aeronautics; and Executive Editor, Gas Turbine International. He authored a chapter in the book “Marketing in Defense Industries.” He is a member of the Editorial Executive Committee of American Business Press, Inc. and Market Research Director of Gas Turbine Computer Marketing Service. At this time he is Chief Editor, Gas Turbine International, Magazine and Catalog.Search for more papers by this authorJ. W. SAWYER, J. W. SAWYER Sawyer holds degrees in E. E. and M. E. and has been granted nine patents in marine engineering and other fields. A member of ASNE, ASME, SAE and AIAA, Sawyer has published more than sixty papers and articles on gas turbines, shaft seals, reduction gears and other subjects. From 1943 to July of this year, he was with the U. S. Department of the Navy and was involved in research and development of marine propulsion machinery. In connection with the marine gas turbine effort he traveled extensively in Europe, Canada, Australia and Japan. In August he joined the staff of Gas Turbine Publications as Technical Editor. In this position he will travel extensively to gather technical information in the gas turbine field.
