Abstract

This year, the American Society of Microbiology (ASM) and the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) collaborated in combining the 2 biggest conferences on microbial sciences, ASM Microbe 2021 and FEMS 2021, to create a unique event called the World Microbe Forum. This new initiative took place virtually from June 20-24, 2021, where microbial scientists reported the cutting-edge microbial sciences research and highlighted the hottest topics, such as SARS-CoV-2 infection and antimicrobial resistance. The virtual platform displayed innovative content presented in the form of ePosters, course workshops, fast track sessions, meet-the-experts and symposiums, both as live and interactive formats or as on-demand recorded content. This report covers some of the most interesting presentations delivered at the meeting. © 2021 Clarivate Analytics.
