Abstract
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) “A paradigm shift has occurred in our world that cannot be reversed – multidrug resistant pathogens are here to stay”. Despite the prevalence and risk for colonization of Multidrug Resistant Organisms (MDRO) in the Behavioral Health patient, hand hygiene remains a challenge for product availability and staff perceptions. Few studies have been published discussing challenges, solutions, and hand hygiene performance in the behavioral health setting.
