Abstract

A number of our readers have disagreed with the views of C. C. Price on world government (C&EN, June 20 , page 1791) . . . This dissent holds that world federation is not the answer to our peace problems nor is its advocacy a commendable activity for a scientist ANOTHER appeal on behalf of world government, by C. C. Price (C&EN, June 20, page 1791), impels me to present an opposing viewpoint. It is true that as American citizens we ought to be seriously concerned about a program for permanent peace. It is true that the time may be short for preventing World War III. It is questionable, however, that the program of the United World Federalists is feasible, expedient, and desirable, or that it is deserving of any support by ACS members, individually or collectively.
