Abstract

Educational robotics has drawn the attention of researchers, lecturers, and educators for its potential to develop the skills, insight, and knowledge of youngsters and teenagers from an early stage. This paper presents a series of workshops aimed at introducing both the fundamentals and applications of manipulators, mobile, and social robots and some of their supporting technologies. These workshops are usually taught in dissemination events as well as in primary or secondary education centers, for which they can serve as an inspiration to anyone interested in educational robotics for designing their own proposals. Apart from the theoretical background that justifies the relevance of each of them, a brief description of how they are usually performed is also given in this paper. The feedback that the authors of this work have perceived from the participants has been quite positive, which confirms that these workshops are an enriching educational experience.
