Workshop and Symposium in St Petersburg

Abstract

The International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD) holds a full conference every three years. The last conference was in Spain in 2006 and the next will be in Brazil in 2009. In the years when there is no conference an annual meeting is held. This is usually accompanied by a one-day symposium. In June 2007 the annual meeting was held in St Petersburg and was accompanied by a workshop on ‘Dams and hydropower in Russia and in the CIS countries’ and by a symposium on ‘Dam safety management. Role of state, private companies and public in designing, constructing and operating large dams’. 1
