Abstract

Recent empirical studies named Workplace Studies have focused the attention on technology in work settings. They are an heterogeneous collection of works coming from different disciplines such as anthropology, psychology, communications, sociology, sociology of science, cognitive science but sharing a common interest on situated action. They frame work as an emerging activity from the interactions between human and non human actors. Their theoretical and methodological proposal is sug- gested in this literature review as inspiring framework even for organization studies. The naturalistic analysis of work practices is meant in fact as a way of bringing work back in organization research.
