Abstract

The design of workplace has a significant effect on the working quality of employees in general and industrial workers in particular. It impacts heavily on worker’s motivation, satisfaction, social relationship, performance, and health. Several studies revealed that safe and healthy workplace conditions will support employees to perform an optimum performance. This study involved the data collected from survey about two instruments, namely Occupational Health and Safety Workplace Checklist and Workplace Assessment. Population and samples were the employees who serve at FTI building of ITN Malang (2nd Campus). Total respondents were 20 academics staffs who chose to fill questionnaire forms. Data analysis was conducted by using SPSS application. The results showed both instruments were found to be valid and reliable. Occupational Health and Safety Workplace Checklist was found to be reliable of 0.823 and valid at score of 0.5, while Bartlett’s test of sphericity yielded a significant level of 0.022. The same result for Workplace Assessment test which was found to be reliable at score of 0.900 and valid at score of .638, while for Bartlett’s test of sphericity, it yielded a significant level of 0.000. Similarly, the Stroop test was stated it is reliable and valid with Cronbach’a alpha of 609 and KMO of .501 with significance level of .000 based on Bartlett’s test. These two instruments can be applied or used to evaluate respondents with similar conditions.
