Abstract

Workpiece accuracy can be defined as the interference of • – Deviations of size • – Surface roughness • – Geometrical deviations of form • – Geometrical deviations of position. The knowledge of necessary and permissible deviations from the ideal geometry of workpieces excercises great influence on the economics of manufacture if specific workpiece accuracy is demanded. At former Conferences on Metrology and Properties of Engineering Surfaces reports have been given on this important aspectsof modern production engineering /Refs. 1,2,3/. The authors made a comparision between different proposals and guidelines where they found good conformity although the values come from countries with different level of industrialization. Therefor this paper can be seen as a further step in view of natural interrelations between different deviations from the ideal geometry of workpieces.
