Abstract

This study shows that work-life benefits increase jobseeker attraction to organizations during the recruitment stage by enhancing their Person-Organization (P-O) fit perceptions. When jobseekers perceive a fit between their own values and those of the organization, they are also more likely to apply to the organization. Our results from an experimental study with a sample of 189 MBA students seeking employment show that jobseekers develop higher P-O fit perceptions for companies that emphasize work-life benefits in their recruitment literature in comparison to those that emphasize other types of benefits and also find such organizations attractive as prospective employers.
