Abstract

This article addresses the following key points: Equity investments are less popular overall in Europe than in the USA. UK financial markets and investors resemble their US counterparts more than continental Europeans. Wealthy Europeans have historically favored fixed-income investments and time deposits over equities when choosing financial assets. Younger high-net-worth European investors are often more willing to take a portfolio-centric approach.
