Abstract
The aim of this poster is to raise awareness of the problems associated with the acquisition of modern works of art and the impact this has on collection care. It is essential to identify and record the constituents and printing details of any experimental work, including artist's intent. The development of a database to provide access to this information has been recognized as a valuable reference tool. Using a collection of prints recently acquired by the British Museum's Department of Japanese Antiquities, specific questions and areas of concern were identified:
