Abstract
If you ask the man on the street what he thinks about his child's kindergarten education, he is likely to reply, All they do is This represents a father's estimate of the curriculum of the kindergarten. This statement reveals at least three obvious misunderstandings concerning children and the program of the kindergarten: 1) He does not understand the development of a five-year-old, 2) He has an inaccurate concept of what a five-year-old is capable of learning and doing and what he should do in kindergarten, 3) For this age, he does not see the similarity between work and play.
