Abstract
Some work has been done on the linguistic features of the Uzbek folklore language. The research method, results and experience of these works have a certain theoretical value in the study of the language of Uzbek folk songs, in particular, Khorezm folk songs. When studying the linguistic features of Uzbek folk songs, including Khorezm folk songs, it is necessary to take into account the scientific results in the field of linguistics and folklore of other nations, their useful experience. In this sense, it is worth recalling some of the work done in Russian linguistics, as well as in Turkic studies. In the language of Khorezm folk songs there are many archaic (historical) and dialectal words, some occasional lexical units. The meanings of such lexical units have been explained by folklorists who prepared mass editions of the songs.
