The problem lies not in printing the Portuguese words, but rather in displaying the special characters on the monitor. Neither 5 nor 6 are included in IBM's standard code, and most of the upper-case vowels with diacritics are lacking as well. Since 5 (appearing in ndo, and numerous words like nagdo and razdo) and 6 (in na6des, raz6es, and so forth) occur frequently, their absence is its greatest shortcoming.
