Abstract

W onderScience the magazine that makes science exciting and entertaining for schoolkids, has reached a milestone—its 10th anniversary of publication. Begun in 1986 by the American Chemical Society, the eightpage magazine was intended as a science outreach medium for elementary-school children. American Institute of Physics (AEP), College Park, Md., became a partner in the magazine in 1989. The goal of WonderScience has always been to encourage more hands-on science by more young kids, says WonderScience Editor James H. Kessler. ACS Education Division, which produces WonderScience has now come forth with The Best of WonderScience , a full-color book celebrating the magazine's first 10 years. book is a compilation of back issues that brings the world of laboratory science to the fingertips of elementary-school children and their teachers and parents.
