Abstract

On the day after the inauguration of Donald Trump as president of the United States in January 2017, the first Women's March took place. The demonstration, which included coordinated events around the world that mobilized millions of people, was the culmination of organizing by a diverse coalition of activists. It has been interpreted as the spark that ignited the anti‐Trump Resistance movement. This entry describes how the march began and its evolution.
