Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the social and economic status of women, i.e., the level of economic development and urbanization, has changed in the SEAP (Southeast Anatolia Project—(GAP)) region. Data collected from 2,203 firms in the provinces of the SEAP region form the basis of the analysis of a Research Report and Industrial Inventory. Based on the Industrial Inventory research, this study examines the integration of women into economic life, viewing factors such as level of education, languages, and employment opportunities. In light of these observations, the study suggests how to integrate women into the economic and social life of the SEAP region, in both rural and urban areas. This study first analyzes the urbanization and level of development in the SEAP region and then presents the results of the Industrial Inventory research on women.
