Abstract
ABSTRACT This article applied self-in-relation theory, developed by the Stone Center at Wellesley College, to understand the process that developed in a peer support group of midlife professional women. The group, in its sixth year, has supported members balancing career and family roles through transitions and stressors in their work and family lives. The efficacy of this model is examined in the context of the group composition and in the stage tasks of these professional women.
