Abstract

The feminist movement has brought to the forefront the necessity of listening to women's voices and appreciating the distinctive insights of women. For centuries societies dominated by males have failed to document the experiences of women. Often there is a denial of the individuality and separateness of women's experiences. The history of the comfort women is the story of voices being denied and suppressed. It is also the story of oppression and subjugation.
