Abstract

General Elections Commission (KPU) pursues for women’s participation act of 30% as a norm that ought be obeyed. The vote of women candidates elected in the general elections of 2014 decreased. In general elections of 2009 women’s position involed in parliament as many as 103 people or 18%. However the general elections of 2014, only resulted for 79 people, or 14% member of parliament. The decreasing is not the fault of mistakes implementation of legal norms, but rather the political direction of voters who tend to prefer male legislators than women legislators which quite strange. Though the Law on Legislative Election, the proportion of women has become more political open, the ranging of women from the representation in the management of the organization of political parties, women in the list of candidates, and administrative documents for women‘s representation. However, development and political empowerment of women in the future will be implemented together of all stakeholders (government, society, political parties, the media, universities) and reconstruct the political system that inclusive to women.
