Abstract

Abstract. Garbage waste is a very crucial problem in people living in narrow yards and a relatively dense population. Not to mention the limited availability of land for waste collection sites, which then causes an accumulation of waste problems in the community. Brajan Village is one of the villages in Kasihan District, Bantul Regency. Initially, this village had community groups having social problems, such as drinking and gathering at night which tended to disturb the residents. Through the Takmir Masjid activity, a children's recitation activity was created at this location, with the hope that this activity could change the negative behavior of their parents. Gradually this activity succeeded, so a children's TPA activity and a Mosque Takmir activity were formed, which were actively participated by young people and their parents. One of the activity programs carried out at the mosque is the Garbage Sodaqah activity. Through this activity, the community is educated about waste, how important it is to manage household waste or the waste they produce from their own yards, how to deposit garbage as a charity effort with good intentions to reduce plastic waste.
