Abstract

Women role in general election has been discussed at various research, which tend to explain the standing of general election system to women, and also to elaborate the motivation and resource owned by woman to stand in pursuing the public role as legislator (house of representative member), and as an executive (as a governor etc). Even so, studies concerning accentual kind of forcing women to vote candidate during general election are still rare. This research aims to narrowing the gap. Survey was conducted by employed convenience sampling and resulting 193 Ternate’s women elector. Theory of Reasoned Action was tested using Partial Least Square (PLS) and obtained various findings. Social pressures such as family and media - printed are found as strong variables on impacting women attitude to vote candidate, and also found that women attitude to vote has play a full mediation role. Limitations of research and suggestions proposed have been discussed.
