Abstract
The Polish People's Party (PSL) is one of the oldest Polish political parties. The purpose of this chapter is to answer the research question: what approach does this party take towards the role and the place of women as compared to other Polish political parties? In the result of the research, it stated that the political thought and activities of PSL do not demonstrate due importance of the role of women. In its fundamental assumptions, the People's Party is based on the traditional perception of the role of a woman-mother in Polish society. The relatively low activity of women in the PSL stems from the conservative views of a large number of members and supporters of this party, who put strong pressure on the increasingly liberalising party authorities so that they could stick to the traditional profile of this political party. In recent years, however, a slow change in this state of affairs can be observed.
