Abstract

This paper summarizes some of the activities and work of a number of women who were involved in demography in Canada in the 1940s the 1950s and the 1960s. Selection was based simply on documented work or employment experience or both with a central focus on demographic and population concerns. Of those included only a few were super stars. Some made only one-time contributions rather than devoting life-time careers to demography. All are included on the strength of certain activities initiatives or accomplishments that laid foundations on which others were subsequently able to build. (SUMMARY IN FRE) (EXCERPT)
