Abstract

The purpose of this study was to measure the extent to which women and minorities are represented on sociology faculties and in sociology graduate programs in universities and colleges in the PSA region. By contacting the chairs of sociology departments, it was found that female sociologists appear to be increasingly represented in faculty positions, while minority sociologists continue to be poorly represented. Similar trends were found for sociology graduate students.
