Abstract

Large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC) of the bladder is a rare bladder tumor. Due to its invasive clinical behavior, most patients already have muscle layer invasion and/or metastasis at the time of diagnosis. We report a 72-year-old female patient who presented with gross hematuria. A solitary tumor located in the anterior wall of the bladder was found by cystoscopy. Biopsy pathological examination suggested urothelial carcinoma (UC) of the bladder. The patient underwent partial cystectomy and was eventually diagnosed as LCNEC (pT2bN0M0) based on the results of postoperative immunohistochemical examination.
