Abstract

Concrete is the most generally used construction material and has desirable properties like high compressive strength, stiffness, and sturdiness under usual environmental factors. This trend in concrete technology is towards increasing the strength and sturdiness of concrete to satisfy the stress of the model construction world at a lower cost. These parameters are often achieved in concrete by adding fibers. During this present study, lathe waste is added to the concrete to extend the results of bending behavior as compared to the traditional concrete at a low cost. Lathe waste fiber of cut length 5 cm having ratio 100, is employed in these project. Totally 6 beams were cast to analyze the bending behavior of concrete with lathe waste, were studied by varying the share of fiber from 0.5% to 2.5% of the weight of cement for M30 grade concrete. It's observed that the bending behavior of the concrete is increased by the addition of lathe waste up to 1.5% and it has been noted to the optimum percentage for bending strength.
