Abstract

Gravel soil stabilization with cement materials has been widely used to improve the mechanical properties of road pavement layers, which consequently result in better performance, both in paved and unpaved roads. The strength in component layers of a pavement mainly explained by materials, mixing and method of curing especially in stabilized soils. The present study concentrated the influence of the type of curing in improving the CBR characteristics of a gravel soil stabilized with cement OPC of 53 grades. The method of curing influences in improving CBR values by considering the moisture required for development of cementation and pozzalanic activity during curing period. The present study involves moist curing achieved high values than water curing moist curing strengthen the formation of gel compounds compared to water curing.
