Abstract

Abstract A new beam line has been designed based on the use of medical room of Tehran Research Reactor (TRR) for Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) using MCNP4C Monte Carlo code. The medical room is located behind the east wall of the reactor pool. The designed beam line is an in-pool Beam Shaping Assembly (BSA) which is considered between the reactor core and the medical room wall. It was found that the final designed BSA can provide 2.96×109 n/cm2.s epithermal neutron flux with acceptable beam contaminations.
