Abstract

Research completed on the interdisciplinary outpatient chronic pain management programs have mainly been completed in intensive 2-3 weeks for 3-8 hours per day. A novel approach to this treatment method needs to be assessed. Participants receiving interdisciplinary pain rehabilitation provided at a treatment dosage more accessible to them would experience significant improvements on self-report and performance based functional assessments, and reduce opioid usage. This was a retrospective study retrieved from participants electronic medical records utilizing pre and post data measurements from participants who completed occupational therapy within an interdisciplinary program. Patients attended the program one to two times weekly for one hour for an average of 14 visits over 176 days.
