Abstract
We consider time variant multi-objective transportation problems (MOTP) in this paper, where all the parameters of decision are chosen as interval numbers. In fact, transport time is of utmost importance and we therefore optimize transport time as well as the functions of cost, benefit and pollution. In order to solve the multi-objective transportation interval problem without translating it into crisp equivalent forms, we propose a new approach, namely the Average Opportunity Cost Method (AOCM). In order to illustrate the method suggested, a numerical example is solved and the result obtained is compared with the results of other existing methods. The suggested approach is very simple to understand and can be applied by decision makers to real life transportation problems.
