Abstract

Abstract TIN clipping algorithm has extensive application value in the course of the digital mining design of the open-pit coal mine based on the TIN model of the stratum. In this paper, a TIN clipping algorithm taking into account of local detail features is proposed. Based on the grid index constructing of the TIN to be clipped and the clipping polygon, the clipping polygon is precisely interpolated based on the TIN to be clipped, then it is embedded in the TIN to be clipped. According to the topological relationship of the TIN triangles set in the clipping polygon, the clipped TIN boundary polygon is constructed, then the triangulation network between the clipping polygon and the clipped TIN boundary polygon is constructed applying the one-time edge-prior CDT growth algorithm, which realizes the precise clipping of the TIN. The experimental results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper is efficient, stable in performance, and it has been applied to the digital mining design of the open-pit coal mine.
