Abstract
University continuing education: the university certificate course »Counseling in Adult Education«, based on the integration of various concepts of counseling. The author presents the university certificate course »Counseling in Adult Education, focussing on counseling in the fields of teaching and learning in adult education, as well as coaching, life skills and career counseling«, which is a special university continuing education course. Although the course includes a wide range of counseling theory, its main focus is on the Adlerian model. The author analyses the importance of professional counseling in adult education, university education and human resource development. She describes the curriculum and some special aspects of university further education. She " nishes her paper with a discussion on the current German issue of quality controls and standards in counseling training programmes.
