Abstract

AbstractThe transformation of Chinese society from a traditional agricultural society to a modern civil society has not only enabled people to gain more economic and personal freedom, but also generated various psychological problems. To solve this problem, Chinese people have introduced Western psychological counseling, but they have not paid enough attention to the differences between Chinese and Western cultures. Chinese traditional thought has a cultural tradition of self-cultivation, typically represented by neo-confucianism of the Song and Ming Dynasties. Teachers and students of neo-confucianism of the Song and Ming Dynasties carried out lectures and seminars in the academies, which was a dialogue mode of common discussion and common interpretation of mind and spirit, endowing psychological consultation with Chinese meaning, namely wisdom consultation. Chinese need psychological consultation that can be integrated with their own cultural traditions, so as to help them have cultural resources as a basis for understanding themselves when facing psychological problems. The concept origin of wisdom consultation is Yang-ming’s nousology, it’s practical operation is similar to common discussion of mind. Chen Fu believes that its actual operation concept has three characteristics: (1) the consulting ethnic of confusion between “scholarly people” and “ordinary people”; (2) the consultation relationship of “foresight” inspiring “hindsight”; (3) consultation method of “reality” opposite to “phenomenon.” Chinese society of mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan has paid too much attention to economic development for decades, but people are under great pressure at the psychological level. The development of wisdom consultation can help with the common spiritual trauma of Chinese people.KeywordsWisdom consultationYang-mings Nousology
