Abstract
This paper presents a wireless power charging (WPC) system operating at 6.78 MHz with improved angular misalignment. Each of the three orthogonal circular coils of the receiver passes through a rectifier separately to combine DC signals to improve charging efficiency. The coil is designed with EM-simulator, and the mutual inductance between the transmitting coil and the receiving coil can be known by using the scattering parameter. Power and efficiency are analyzed by substituting mutual inductance into equivalent circuits implemented by EM -simulators. The dimension of the alliance for wireless power (A4WP) transmitting coil fabricated of the printed circuit board (PCB) is 209 × 140.2 mm 2 , and the receiving coil fabricated of 1.72 mm thick copper wire is 100 mm in diameter. The charging power is up to 4.74 W, and the efficiency is up to 51.04 %, which verifies that the experimental and simulation results are reasonable.
