Abstract

For time-based positioning system, clock synchronization between base stations is crucial. Aiming at the problem of low clock synchronization accuracy in indoor positioning, a method aim to realize the high clock synchronization by using Ultra Wide Band (UWB) technology is proposed in this paper. It solved the problem of high cost of human and material resources and can be used in most positioning circumstances. The method uses the hardware high interval precision count value sent by the main module to correct the clock frequency of the sub-module. So that the clock deviation between the main module and the sub-module is almost close to zero, realizing the clock synchronization between them. A linear fitting method solves the problem of large error of ranging result in UWB ranging process. Comparing to other paper’s result, this paper’s experiment shows that the time accuracy can reach a better high accuracy and linear fitting method make the error between the measured value and the actual value reduced by 39%.
