Abstract

The electric vehicle is preferred mainly because it is less expensive and environmentally friendly. But it comes with battery overcharge compensation and deep discharge. This problem affects battery life and performance over the years. To overcome this problem, the proposed system gives the simulation and prototype for wireless battery management System (WBMS) for electric vehicles (EV), in which different battery parameters such as voltage, current, and the temperature are monitored, which can help us to avoid overcharging and deep discharge of the battery. Observation can be done with the help of several sensors. The measured battery parameters, i.e., voltage, current, and temperature data are sent to the ATmega16 controller, then that battery information is uploaded to the cloud for observations. Battery monitoring data is displayed on the PC and Android smartphones. The monitoring system can display current, voltage & temperature and also shows the real-time data on Android smartphones and personal computers. This can help us to increase the performance and the life of the battery.
